2019 Cover Crop Workshop!

The Gooding Soil Conservation District and the University of Idaho Extension Service recently hosted a ½ day Cover Crop Workshop.  We felt it necessary as the District recently purchased a No-Till drill and have been experimenting with cover crops via landowner, Katie & John Dennis, as well as our community garden.    The District also sent out surveys to those who rented the drill for feedback, unfortunately we only had 10 return it, leaving us with not much information.  However, we know there is interest out there and want to continue educating our community.
Presenters were amazing, as they spoke on different subjects such as; the Reality of Soil Health in Idaho, Economics, Grazing and Inter-seeding Cover Crops.  Many landowners in attendance are interested in stepping out of the box and trying no-till / cover crops but still haven’t done it.  However, some have and had many informative things to share with others.
We would like to thank those of you who participated and hope we can help them reach their goals in Soil Health as we move to the future.
