The Gooding SCD has one no-till drills available to lease in all of Magic Valley. Lessee must show proof of at least $70,000 liability insurance and is also responsible for transportation. The John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill
Rental Fee $60 Minimum, $10 per acre (15 ft drill)
For planting non-row crops with small grains, such as wheat, barley, etc. The spacing eliminates trash build-up. Planting depth varies from 1/4″ to 3″ with easy-to-adjust settings. Hydraulic down pressure creates consistent planting depth. Operating manual comes attached to the drill.
No-Till Drill Project
No-Till Drill Equipment will be available to rent from the districts. This project provides landowners the opportunity to try out No-Till/Minimal Till and Cover Crop procedures at an affordable cost. The purpose of this project is to educate landowners in the use of no-till drill and cover crop farm practices.
Direct Seed Cover Crops Provide:
Cost: $10 per acre and $60 per day
